Raise Your Spirits
This was taken at the same spot - give or take a couple of yards - that the previous shot was taken. We're used to seeing Great Blue Herons being a little more, well, blue, but in the winter their plumage becomes more dowdy. It's still a magnificent bird whatever the season.
When you walk the same paths over and over, you can become complacent about the scenery around you. Sometimes it takes a dramatic change, like our recent snowfall, to show you how nature's turns can make the familiar new again.
This morning Henry and I were lucky enough to see a coyote on our walk. We were also lucky enough to be sufficiently far away that it didn’t consider us either a threat or prey.
