Photographing a heron and Waxwings

So the Great Blue Heron is back in all his glory. He was around briefly over winter but his beautiful blue had gone a dull brown. Now that we’re in Spring he’ll be on the lookout for a mate and his colours are a big part of his attraction. Spotted this guy yesterday on our local creek.

I never saw the Cedar Waxwings last year. This year, however, they regularly appear on my morning walk and seem to be travelling together in a group of 6 or 7.
