Over the years I’ve had more than a few people asking if I sold my photography work. And I never have. Not that I’ve got any moral objection to making money from my photography hobby, it’s just that a hobby is what it is. I’m not going to throw in the day job to become a full-time pro and I couldn’t justify the fees that companies such as Zenfolio and Smugmug charge for their (comprehensive) services.
So, having done a little more research we’re now live on fineartamerica.com. Who knows if I’ll make any sales at all, but it would certainly give me a kick to know that someone out there liked my stuff enough to pay money for it and hang it on their wall. And that’s really what it’s all about.
Fine Art America – a great opportunity for the photographer who is happy to self-promote but willing to pay a reasonable price for exposure and potential.
